Barcelona's Zlatan Ibrahimovic tired of transfer rumours--goal.com
Barcelona striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic has admitted his displeasure at the transfer rumours that have flooded the media this summer, linking the big Swede to other clubs after just one year with the Catalan giants.
Speaking in Sweden at a press conference after announcing that he would be coming out of international retirement to return to play for Sweden, Ibrahimovic addressed the maelstrom of reports alleging that he is on his way out of Catalunya.
"I was a Barca player when I left and will be one when I return," said the striker, according to Sport.
"I have four years left on my contract.
"I want to congratulate all who have used my name and give my best to all those who have disbursed these rumours. It's fun to have been at Chelsea, Manchester City, and wherever else without being there."
Ibrahimovic was signed by Barcelona from Inter Milan last season in a deal that saw Samuel Eto'o leave the Blaugrana for Italy. As Barca's most expensive signing in history at €69 million, 'Ibracadabra' enjoyed great form to begin the season, but began to struggle with injury as the year progressed, unable to regain his good form and eventually losing his starting position.
With Barcelona signing striker David Villa from Valencia early this summer, media speculation of Ibrahimovic's departure from the Camp Nou has run rampant. Barcelona's highly publicised financial troubles only seem to have added fuel to the fire as 'Ibra's' £12m annual salary (including bonuses) and the potential transfer fee Barca would stand to recoup contribute to the conjecture.
