Arsenal Reach Agreement to Complete £15.6m Joe Cole Deal?-(caughtoffside.com)

According to various sources a deal to bring former Chelsea man Joe Cole to the Emirates is almost done. Betting sites and shops have slashed odds of the 28 year old England man being at the north London club come the new season and there is a growing groundswell of opinion that seems to suggest that Arsene Wenger will finally get his man.

Whilst clearly any deal is pure speculation until you see the obligatory snap shot of the player holding aloft a scarf or decked out in the latest kit, it does seem that a move could well be on the cards. There was some talk about the Londoner looking to a potential move to Serie A or La Liga but there hasn’t been a large uptake of interest from the continent that then leads the attacking midfielder to having to once again consider his options.

The deal he is looking for is apparently in the region of £100k a week and the former West Ham man wants at least a three year deal which would mean a deal in the area of £15.6m is needed to secure Cole’s signature, which isn’t as large as it seems given no transfer fee would be needed to land the free agent.

Whoever manages to secure the talented midfielder will be getting a vastly experienced performer with a point to prove having failed to persuade Carlo Ancelotti that he deserved a regular first team spot at the Premier League champions. The source below believes that the chances of the Paddington born star starting the season as a Gunner are very high indeed/
